1st November 2022, Gadchiroli
A training program on “Production Technology of Citrus” was organized by ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur on 1st November, 2022 in Police Dadalora Khidki, Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra under the Tribal Sub-Plan in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gadchiroli.
The district is underdeveloped and has been grappling with malnutrition. ICAR-CCRI is working on strengthening / promoting the citrus cultivation practices in different non-traditional areas.
Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur while interacting with 223 tribal farmers of this district sensitized about the remunerative aspects of this commercial crop and urged the farmers to adopt the technologies developed by the Institute to enhance yield, quality and income.

Dr. Ashutosh Murkute, Pr. Scientist & Nodal Officer TSP and Dr. N.M. Meshram, Sr. Scientist, CCRI also gave technical inputs to the farmers.
Training kits with Agricultural inputs like biofertilizers, vermicompost, secateurs and vegetable seeds were distributed by ICAR-CCRI among the participants.
A farmer - scientist interaction session was also organized wherein the queries raised by the farmers related to the crop were answered.
Also, present on the occasion were Shri Nilotpal, Superintendent of Police, Shri Anuj Tare, Additional Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli and Dr. Sandip Karhale, Sr. Scientist, KVK, Gadchiroli. The police help camp played an active role in successfully organizing the programme.
