ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata organises Vigilance Awareness Week

ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata organised a vigilance awareness campaign by administering an integrity pledge to all Staff by Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, in the presence of Dr. Avijit Haldar, Vigilance Officer on 30th October 2023.

Dr. Dey spoke about the importance of collective participation of all stakeholders in the prevention of, and fight against corruption, to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption. He simplified this year's theme as, upholding shared responsibility to honestly contribute to the advancement of our nation. Dr. Dey also spoke about the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution for the benefit of the organisation, which safeguards the complainant's identity by maintaining confidentiality.

Shri. Alok Kumar Madhukar, Chief Manager, State Bank of India, Bikash Bhavan Branch, dealt with various aspects of cybersecurity and preventive measures to safeguard the bank accounts. He talked about how firewalls regulate what data is allowed to reach a device and filter out harmful stuff from the Internet, such as viruses and hackers.

Various activities were organised during the campaign period of Vigilance Awareness Week-2023, in the Institute.

A special Workshop on 'Preventive vigilance, cybersecurity and prevention of banking fraud' was organised in hybrid mode on 3rd November 2023. The major objective of the Workshop was to create awareness regarding common issues related to cybersecurity and prevention of banking fraud besides, preventive vigilance for weeding out corruption and unethical practices.

All Staff including Scientists, Technical, Administrative and Supporting categories as well as RA/SRF/YPs as well as Heads and SMS of KVKs of Odisha, West Bengal and A&N Island participated in the Workshop.
