A meeting on the formulation of the Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for Kisan Sarathi 2.0 was convened at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, bringing together senior officials and experts committed to transforming the landscape of real-time farmer support in agri-digital innovation.
The meeting was graced by Dr. Anil Rai, Assistant Director General (ICT), ICAR. He emphasized the need to embed webinar functionality to address emergent agricultural issues through real-time expert interactions—ensuring timely support to farmers on pressing challenges.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata, emphasized seamless integration of Kisan Sarathi with state-level agro-advisory platforms and real-time data use for predictive pest and disease advisories. He proposed issuing ‘Kisan Mitra IDs’ to two progressive farmers per district for grassroots tech facilitation. To bridge the digital divide, Dr. Dey also recommended exploring tie-ups with community radio for inclusive outreach.
A comprehensive presentation on Kisan Sarathi detailing existing features and proposed forward-looking upgrades was delivered during the programme.
The meeting marked a significant leap toward the roadmap for Kisan Sarathi 2.0—India’s flagship agri-digital advisory platform—envisioning a farmer-centric, tech-powered ecosystem that sparks the next wave of agri-digital innovation and sets the tone for inclusive, intelligent, and impactful agricultural extension.
