Women Empowerment through Skill Development TrainingA 10-day hands on training programme on "Manufacture of Jute Bags" sponsored by Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) project, ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata concluded at ICAR-Central Institute of Sub Tropical Horticulture, Lucknow, Regional Research Station campus, Malda today.

Smt. Sampa Hazra, Additional District Magistrate, Malda District & Chief Guest briefed about the trainees about scope & opportunities in Jute diversified products.

Dr. Dipak Nayak, In-Charge, ICAR-CISH, RRS, Malda spoke about the initiatives taken at the Centre for empowerment of women through skill development trainings.

Dr. Laxmi Kanta Nayak, Principal Scientist & Coordinator brifed about the benefits of Jute fibre based products in the context of ban on single use plastics.

Twenty rural women from Habibpur block, Malda district associated with Jute production have participated in the training.
