Webinar on “Agri-tourism: Future of Indian Tourism & New Agri-business Avenues to the Indian Farmers” organized

The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan organized a Webinar on "Agri-tourism: Future of Indian Tourism & New Agri-business Avenues to the Indian Farmers" today.

In his address, Dr. N.P. Singh, Former Director, ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati, Maharashtra highlighted the concept and philosophy of Agri-tourism. He emphasized on establishing and promoting the Agri-tourism for diversification and stabilization of the rural economy.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur briefed about the various benefits of developing the Agri-tourism for employment generation, income enhancement and creation of markets. He stated that the Agri-tourism can strengthen the rural-urban relationship.

Dr. S.K. Sharma, Director of Extension Education, SKRAU, Bikaner, Rajasthan stressed that the Agri-tourism should be based on Agro-ecological situation of particular area. He also emphasized on the integration and networking among all the stakeholders for effective development and promotion of Agri-tourism.

The senior officials of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Rajasthan, Haryana & Delhi participated in the Webinar.
