Shri Parsottambhai Rupala, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Shri Chimanbhai Saparia, Minister for Agriculture and Energy, Govt. of Gujarat laid the foundation stone of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Morbi at village Gor Khijadia in presence of Shri Jayantibhai Ramjibhai Kavadiya, Minister of State for Panchayat, Rural Housing and Rural Development, Govt. of Gujarat, Shri Mohanbhai Kundariya, Member of Parliament and Former Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Dr. A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Agri. Ext.), ICAR, Dr. A.R. Pathak, Vice Chancellor, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, Shri Bavanjibhai Metalia, Member of Parliament, Tankara, Shri Kantilal Amrutiya, Member of Parliament, Morbi today.

Shri Parsottambhai Rupala appreciated the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in bringing knowledge and technologies in the fields of farmers and importance of FLDs. He urged the scientist to guide farmers how to utilize water captured in the surrounding mines. He assured to provide cooperation in establishing support prices to agriculture commodities. He explained Prime Minister Irrigation scheme in detail and asked to prepare District Irrigation.

Shri Chimanbhai Saparia congratulated farmers for getting Krishi Vigyan Kendra, which is centre of knowledge and skill development in agriculture.

He also appreciated Cooperation of Central Government in establishing support price of various agricultural commodities. He advised farmers to take advantage of scheme for farm inputs and poly houses.

Shri Mohanbhai Kundariya emphasized the need of newer agriculture technologies and urged farmers to take the benefits of various Government schemes launched for agriculture sector.           

Shri Bavanjibhai Metalia and Shri Kantilal Amrutia also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. A.R. Pathak appreciated the farmers for utilizing natural resources for better agriculture, he pointed out the importance of modern technology in increasing production.

Dr. A.K. Singh briefed the objectives of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and role of knowledge and skill in solving various problems in production of agriculture crops. He stated that there are 653 KVKs in India transforming the scienario of Indian agriculture.

Directors of ICAR Institutes, senior officials from SAU’s, State Government, farmers, and farm women, officers of line department participated in the event.
