Shri Kailash Choudhary visits KVK, Nagaur

Shri Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaur-1 Rajasthan today.

The Minister accentuated on promoting and forming the Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to provide the marketing platform to each category of farmers for enhancing their income. Shri Choudhary urged to develop and promote the organic farming technologies amongst the farmers. He also highlighted the application and use of bio-decomposer for the proper utilization of the waste materials in the form of organic manner.

Shri Choudhary visited the sites of various demonstration units including the storage go-down constructed under the National Food Security Mission.

Dr. B.R. Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor, Agricultural University, Jodhpur underlined the progress under the research and development. He also urged for the establishment of ICAR-AICRP Centres on Bajra, Cumin, Green Gram & Til under the jurisdiction area of the Agricultural University (AU), Jodhpur.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur briefed about the various programmes and schemes being implemented in the participatory mode for farming community’s benefits. Dr. Singh also outlined the benefits of “Creation of Pulses Seed Hubs” in reference to the timely availability of the seeds of farmers’ preferred varieties within as well as the nearby Districts since the Year - 2016-17.

Dr. Ishwar Singh, Director (Extension Education), AU, Jodhpur outlined about the KVKs’ performance that are working under the AU, Jodhpur’s jurisdiction.

More than 200 participants registered their participation during the occasion.
