Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) released the CadalminTM Antihypertensive extract (CadalminTM AHe), a nutraceutical product developed by the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi today.
The product is a natural remedy for combating the hypertension.
The Director General stated that the development of technologies and knowledge system should be in a way of disruptive in nature. He said that the giant leaps could be made through the disruptive changes in the technologies and innovations that will also bring in wider visibility across the spectrum nationally and globally.
Dr. Mohapatra urged the young scientists for coming forward to make the constructive changes in their respective field by building their own ideas. He opined for springing the future leadership from the young scientists. The Director General asserted that the change is essential and, so, the youngsters should focus on bringing in novelty to the existing technologies.
Highlighting the significance of the marine fisheries sector, the Director General applauded the ICAR-CMFRI’s major role in developing the sector which is crucial for the blue revolution.
Dr. Mohapatra released a book titled “The Enigmatic Indian Oil Sardine: An Insight” authored by the leading scientists of ICAR-CMFRI and posters on major edible and ornamental fishes of Lakshadweep Islands prepared by the Institute.
Dr. J.K. Jena, DDG (Fisheries Sciences), ICAR presided over the function.
Earlier, Dr. A. Gopalakrishnan, Director, ICAR-CMFRI welcomed the gathering.
Dr. T.V. Sathianandan, Head of the Fishery Resources Assessment Division, ICAR-CMFRI proposed vote of thanks.
