The integrated fish-cum-poultry farming system enables farmers to utilise poultry droppings as an organic nutrient input for fish ponds, thereby reducing dependence on external inputs and improving resource-use efficiency.

The distribution of Rainbow Rooster chicks is expected to provide an additional source of income, improve household nutritional security and strengthen the livelihood resilience of participating farming households.

The programme also highlighted the importance of climate-resilient agricultural practices and the role of scientific interventions in improving the socio-economic conditions of farming communities, particularly tribal farmers.

Through such initiatives, KVK Ri Bhoi continues to support farmers by promoting location-specific technologies, capacity building and livelihood diversification under NICRA, with the broader objective of building climate-resilient and sustainable farming systems in Ri Bhoi District.
