Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa, participated the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan programme organized by ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute at Raia village, marking the inauguration of the 2025 Kharif season. The event was held in collaboration with the Don Bosco Society and the Directorate of Agriculture.
During his visit, Dr. Sawant interacted with ICAR-CCARI scientists and local farmers. In his address, he highlighted the pivotal role of ICAR-CCARI in advancing agricultural development in Goa and reaffirmed the state government’s support for paddy cultivation from seed distribution to post-harvest marketing. He also urged all state line departments to strengthen collaboration with ICAR to accelerate agricultural growth in the region.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his continued support to the VKSA initiative and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative agricultural practices in Goa.
