30 October 2026
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is implementing the nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyaan – Rabi 2026 (22 October–30 November 2026) to promote soil health, balanced fertiliser use, crop diversification and sustainable, climate-resilient agriculture. Through ICAR institutes and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), the campaign is reaching farming communities through awareness programmes, Kisan Chaupals, farmers' conferences, training sessions and field demonstrations.
Key focus areas include judicious use of fertilisers and agricultural inputs, promotion of pulses and oilseeds, natural and regenerative farming, integrated farming systems, water conservation, crop residue management and efficient utilisation of rice fallows. The campaign also seeks to facilitate access to government schemes, strengthen farmers' awareness and encourage the adoption of improved agricultural technologies for enhanced farm productivity, resource conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
