Capacity Building Program on “Micro Irrigation Systems” for Uttar Pradesh State Horticulture Officials

Three training programs on Micro-irrigation was organized for identified officials from 75 districts of the state Department of Horticulture & Food Processing at the ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal.

Two batches of training program (25 each) sponsored by the department have been organized at ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal during September 13-15 and September 20-22, 2022.

The second batch of training was concluded on 22nd September, 2022 in which Dr. VP Singh, Director, ICAR-NIHSAD was Chief Guest and Director of the institute Dr. CR Mehta was Chairman of the valedictory session.

The topics covered in the training program include critical components of micro-irrigation system (MIS), crop water requirement, appropriate irrigation schedules for different crops, fertigation, operation and maintenance, design and layout of different MIS etc.

The participants were provided with practical exposure on all types of micro-irrigation systems and their different overhead components.

The next batch of training program for 25 participants has been scheduled during 18-20 October, 2022.
