The Annual Action Plan Workshop 2025-26 for Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone VI, was successfully organised on 22nd and 23rd of April, 2025 at Guwahati. The workshop served as a platform for finalizing the action plans of 47 KVKs of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim for the year 2025-26.
Dr. G. Kadirvel, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI, emphasized the need to align OFTs with national and state priorities, particularly focusing on yield enhancement and adoption of technologies suited for climate stress.
The workshop focused on key operational areas such as On-Farm Testing (OFTs), Frontline Demonstrations (FLDs) across agricultural disciplines, strategies for revenue generation, convergence with line departments, and resource mobilization. The formulation of targeted action plans aimed to refine extension strategies and integrate climate-resilient and region-specific technologies to improve productivity and farmers’ income.
The workshop was attended by eminent personalities such as Dr. M. Neog, Director, Extension Education, AAU, Jorhat; Dr. R. Bordoloi, Director, EEI for NE Region, Khanapara; Dr. A.K. Tripathi, Former Director, ICAR ATARI, Zone VI; along with other Senior Scientists & Heads of KVKs; and staff from ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI.
The workshop concluded with a comprehensive review of each KVK’s proposed activities, ensuring strategic alignment with the goals of national priority and state policy, promoting sustainable practices, and strengthening the role of KVKs as grassroots-level knowledge hubs.
