ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute and ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal jointly organized an Agripreneurship Development Programme, 'Citriसारथि 2.0', today in Imphal, Manipur. The programme was conducted in hybrid mode in association with the South Asian Institute of Rural and Agricultural Management (SAIRAM), Manipur. Organized under the aegis of CitriHub – the Agribusiness Incubation Centre of ICAR-CCRI – and the ABI of ICAR, Manipur Centre, the programme aimed to inspire students and aspiring agripreneurs to explore agribusiness opportunities.
Dr Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, highlighted the institute’s initiatives in the North-eastern states, with a specific focus on Manipur. He emphasized the immense potential for citrus-based agripreneurship in the region and encouraged participants to leverage the favourable agripreneurial ecosystem in the country.
Dr Ch. Basudha Devi, Head, Regional Centre, ICAR-Manipur Centre, and Prof. H. S. Shekhar Sharma, Director, SAIRAM, also addressed the participants, underlining the importance of agribusiness development in North-east India.
A total of 50 students and aspiring agripreneurs actively participated in the programme, engaging in discussions with experts and incubates. The event marked a significant step towards fostering agripreneurship in the North-eastern region, encouraging innovation, and supporting the development of sustainable citrus-based enterprises.
The successful organization of ‘Citriसारथि 2.0’ reaffirms the commitment of ICAR-CCRI to strengthening agribusiness development in the North-east and empowering the next generation of agripreneurs.
