ICAR–CIFA signes MoU with Incubatees for Incubation at Agri-Business Incubation Centre

ICAR–Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture signed Memoranda of Understanding with three incubated enterprises at Agri-Business Incubation Centre (ABIC-CIFA) today at Bhubaneswar, marking a significant step towards strengthening entrepreneurship development, technology dissemination, and institutional support in the aquaculture sector.

The MoU signing ceremony was held in the presence of Dr. Pramoda Kumar Sahoo, Director, ICAR–CIFA, who emphasized the role of incubation and public–private collaboration in accelerating the adoption of scientific aquaculture practices and promoting sustainable livelihood generation. He highlighted ICAR–CIFA’s continued commitment to nurturing innovation-driven enterprises through structured incubation support, technical guidance, and capacity building. The MoUs were signed with the following incubates:

•Purushottam Fish Farmers Producers Co-operative Society Ltd.,
represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Ghanshyam Pradhan, Cuttack 
•4S4R Seed Farmers Producers Company Ltd.,
represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Suryanarayan Dwibedi, 
•Organoponix Private Limited, represented by its Director, Dr. Biswaranjan Pradhan.

These agreements aim to facilitate technology transfer, enterprise handholding, and commercialization of proven aquaculture practices, thereby strengthening the value chain and enhancing productivity, profitability, and sustainability of the sector. The programme was coordinated by the ABI and ITMU teams of ICAR CIFA. The team members briefed the participants on the objectives of the incubation programme and the scope of collaboration under the MoUs.

The event drew the participation of scientists, incubation officials, and representatives from incubated enterprises, who appreciated the institute’s efforts in fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening the linkages between research and field-level implementation. The MoU signing ceremony concluded with a group interaction, reaffirming ICAR–CIFA’s role in promoting innovation-led aquaculture development and supporting emerging enterprises for the sustainable growth of the fisheries sector.
