Specialized training programme for Technical Staff on ‘Farm and Laboratory Management’

20th - 25th May 2024, Meerut

ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research, Modipuram, Meerut organized a week-long training programme on ‘Farm and Laboratory Management’ from 20th-25th May 2024. The programme aimed to provide capacity building to newly recruited Technical Staff in different arena of the NARS System.

The Chief Guest, Dr. S.K. Sharma, Former Director, ICAR-IIFSR, emphasised that capacity building of technical staff is very important for improving the overall work efficiency in the National Agriculture Research System. He also urged the trainees to acquire knowledge about integrated farming systems, research farm management, laboratory management, research experiments, and data management to ensure a strong and efficient human resources foundation in agricultural institutions.

Dr. Sunil Kumar, Director, ICAR-IIFSR was the Chief Guest for the valedictory session organized on 25th May 2024. He emphasized the trainees' responsibilities and advised them to adapt to changing climates, new agricultural technologies, and government priorities in laboratory and farm management-related tasks.

Participants received hands-on training on farm and laboratory management during the programme.

A total of 25 Technical Staff from ten different colleges/research stations/ICAR-KVKs of Agriculture University, Kota, and Rajasthan participated in this training programme.
