Smt. Vasundhara Raje, Chief Minister of Rajasthan visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra - Danta Barmer on 23 October 2015. While visiting medicinal garden, Azolla unit, Vermicopost unit, Fodder unit (Sewan and Dhaman) and fruit orchards she showed keen interest and expressed her satisfaction over the work done by KVK. She said that KVK is doing excellent work for farming community of Barmer district and the district has set a milestone in pomegranate cultivation and the area under pomegranate has increased significantly. She also interacted with the farmers regarding their problems and assured all possible support and help. She suggested that there should be a large scale tissue culture nursery at Jodhpur or Jaipur so that farmers may get quality planting material at reasonable price.

Chief Minister said that middleman in marketing of pomegranate may be excluded from system so that farmers may get better price of their produce.

Smt. Raje was accompanied by Member of Parliament Cornel Sona Ram, Revenue Minister of Rajasthan Sh. Amra Ram, Divisional Commissioner Sh. Ratan Lahoti, Distt. Collector Barmer Sh. Madhusudan Sharma, Superintendent of Police  Barmer Sh. Paris Deshmukh  

Dr Pradeep Pagaria, Progarmme Coordinator of KVK explained about the different demonstrations and activities carried out for the farmers and farm women, rural  youths and extension personnel of Barmer district.
