A training programme on “Biochemical Techniques for Fish Quality Analysis” was organized at Veraval Research of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin during 13-19 February, 2015.
Fourteen technologists, working in various fish processing factories of Gujarat, participated in the training programme. Various technical sessions related to fish quality analysis such as ‘Seafood spoilage and biochemical quality tests for fish, Biochemical composition and nutritional significance of fish, Microbial hazards in sea foods, Postmortem changes in fish and its quality assessment, Quality problems associated with sea foods, Heavy metals contamination and sea foods hazards, Role of MPEDA in assuring quality of sea foods etc. were organized.
