The ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha represented India in the two-day Expert Consultation Meeting on “Promoting Innovations in fisheries value-chain for improving human nutrition in South Asia” virtually organized by the SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), Dhaka, Bangladesh from 24th to 25th November, 2020.

Dr. J.K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science) ICAR chaired during the country paper presentations in one of the technical sessions.
Dr. Ravishankar, Director ICAR-CIFT, Kochi and Dr. Saroj Kumar Swain, Director, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar also virtually participated in the meeting.
The meeting was aimed at promoting the innovations in value-chain dynamics for sustainable expansion in fisheries and the policy recommendations emerging from the consultation for improving the human health.
The delegates from the member countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka virtually participated in the Meeting.
