Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, visited the exhibition showcasing technologies developed by the ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, and interacted with progressive farmers and institute staff during the Sankalp Se Sewa Abhiyan, Swayam Purn Goa and Tree Plantation Programme held at Ponda, Goa.
During his visit to the ICAR-CCARI stall, Shri Chouhan appreciated the efforts of the institute in developing and promoting location-specific agricultural technologies and sustainable farming practices suited to the coastal region. He also interacted with progressive farmers and members of the institute’s team.
The event was graced by Shri Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, and Shri Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy.
Dr Amaresh Kumar Nayak, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management), ICAR; Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI; Padma Shri Awardee farmer Shri Sanjay Anant Patil, along with scientists, progressive farmers and other stakeholders, were also present on the occasion.
