The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, participated in the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2026 programme organised by the Government of Goa on 2 October 2026, marking the culmination of the 15-day-long Swachhata Hi Seva–2026 campaign.
A key highlight of the programme was the Shramik Samman, organised to recognise and honour Safai Mitras for their dedicated contribution towards maintaining cleanliness and sanitation. Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, felicitated Safai Mitras of ICAR-CCARI with shawls, bouquets and gifts in appreciation of their valuable services.
The Safai Mitras play an important role in maintaining a clean, hygienic and healthy campus throughout the year. Their contribution was recognised as an integral part of the institute’s efforts towards promoting the values of cleanliness and sanitation.
Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa, appreciated the participation and efforts of ICAR-CCARI under the Swachhata Hi Seva–2026 campaign. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State; Shri Sadanand Shet Tanawade, Member of Rajya Sabha; and Dr A.K. Nayak, Deputy Director General, ICAR, also graced the occasion.
The programme highlighted the spirit of Swachhata, Seva and Shramik Samman, recognising the invaluable contribution of Safai Mitras towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, with the dedicated support of the institute’s Mission Swachhata 365 team.
