Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare visited the Zonal Agricultural Research Station, Morena, Madhya Pradesh today. The Minister visited the various demonstrations / trials at the research farm of direct seeding of wheat, chickpea, mustard, residue management, neon-nitrogen and zinc response on crops. During his visit, he discussed about the various technologies for doubling the yield and income.
While attending the Kisan Sangoshthi on Zaid crop organized by the IFFCO at Joura Block, Morena District, Shri Tomar urged the farmers for adopting the improved technologies of crops, vegetables and fruits production along with dairy, bee-keeping, mushroom, poultry, fish production, etc. The Minister emphasized on reducing the cost of production with direct seeding, bed planting, water management technologies, stop burning of farm residue for soil health and safer environment. He briefed about various schemes of the Government of India that aims at strengthening the agriculture and farmers of the country. Shri Tomar highlighted about the benefits of the Farmers’ Producer Organizations for the small and marginal farmers for enhancing their income. He also encouraged the farmers to regularly visit the Zonal Agricultural Research Station, Krishi Vigyan Kendras for improved technology and advanced training.
Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO emphasized on the various technologies beneficial for the farmers.
Dr. Y.P. Singh, Associate Director (Research), ZARS, Morena briefed about doubling the yield and income through conservation agriculture and water management technologies.
Ms. Priyanka Das, Collector, Morena along with other senior officers and farmers were also present on the occasion.
