The KRUSHIK Mela - 2019 - A Live Demonstration and Agricultural Expo was inaugurated at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Baramati campus today.
In his inaugural speech, Dr. Peter S. Carberry, Director General, ICRISAT, Hyderabad underlined the showcasing of all the majority dry land technologies at KRUSHIK Agri Expo. He stated that the Agri Expo has included a section depicting all the technologies developed by ICRISAT. Dr. Peter also highlighted about the visit by poor farmers from African countries in KRUSHIK next year to get a hand-on-experience about the activities being conducted at KVK instructional farm.
Shri Sharad Pawar, former Union Agriculture Minister and MP (Rajya Sabha) applauded the ADT’s KVK Baramati’s efforts of showcasing the latest technologies in KRUSHIK Agro Expo every year which has yielded favorable and remarkable results in benefitting thousands of farmers. He also appreciated the ICRISAT’s works in agricultural fields that are being apprised throughout the world.
Dr. Arun Vidhale, Commissioner of Fisheries, Maharashtra and Mrs. Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) inaugurated the Fish Feed Mill.
Dr. M. Ariz Ahammed, Managing Director, National Horticulture Board, Gurugram; Shri Zende, Joint Director of Agriculture, Pune inaugurated the District Level Agricultural Exhibition in the presence of other dignitaries.
Shri Burzis Taraporewala, Tata Trust, Mumbai provided the guidance to farmers regarding the social activities being conducted by Tata Trust in the field of agriculture.
Shri U.D. Shirsalkar, Chief General Manager, NABARD; Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune and Shri Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati along with other dignitaries were also present during the occasion.
Dignitaries also visited the demonstration plots of vegetables, cereal crops, pulses, fruits crop demo, apiculture unit, fishery unit, center of excellence for vegetable, dairy unit, poultry unit, silage unit, animal exhibition .
The Mela also depicted the various live demonstrations of all the agricultural and allied enterprises technologies at KVK instructional farm.
The Mela registered a total footfall by 1,564 farmers, company representatives and government officials.
The Live Demonstration and Agricultural Expo will remain open till 20th January - 2019.
