To mark the celebrations of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence, the ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora, Uttarakhand organized the Programme on “Skill Agriculture for Hill Agriculture” from 6th to 11th September, 2021.
Dr. Lakshmi Kant, Director, ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, Uttarakhand highlighted the programmes organized by the scientists in the selected villages under Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav. He outlined about the "Trainers’ Training Programme" on Disease and Pest Management in Kharif Crops organized for the North-Western and North-Eastern Himalayan Regions during the occasion.
About 300 farmers and students from the different Districts of Uttarakhand participated in the Webinar on “Skill Development of Hill Farmers” organized to mark the celebrations of the “Farmers’ Awareness Week” from 10th to 11th September, 2021 during the occasion.
The week-long celebrations registered participation by the Scientists from ICAR Institutes, Senior Officials from Directorate of Agriculture, Meghalaya; Directorate of Horticulture, Uttarakhand and Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
