The ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, Kolkata organized the “Farmer-SHG-Scientist-Expert Interface Meeting” here today.
During his interaction with the RAC Chairman, Prof. S.K. Datta, Former Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR & Vice-Chancellor, Biswa Bangla Biswabidyalay was apprised with the problems faced by them and the various benefits availed by adopting the varieties & technologies developed by the Institute.
Dr. R.K. Singh, ADG (CC), ICAR also participated and deliberated during the Meeting.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, Kolkata underlined the Institute’s achievements. Dr. Kar highlighted the new varieties developed by the Institute having the pre-mature flowering resistant traits. He also urged the farmers to yield the benefits of the In-Situ Retting Pond and Integrated Farming System.
A total of 150 farmers, SHG members and FPO representatives participated in the Meeting.
