Shri Siddhagiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kaneri, Kolhapur, Maharashtra in collaboration with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Kolhapur, Maharashtra organized the “Women Farmers’ Goshthi on Organic Farming” to celebrate the “Mahila Kisan Diwas - 2020” today.
In her inaugural address, Smt. Sunanda Kurhade, Project Director, ATMA urged the women farmers for developing themselves as entrepreneurs. Highlighting the importance of residue-free vegetable production through nutritional gardens, Smt. Kurhade stressed on the adoption of organic farming and its practices for crop production.
Dr. Ravindra Singh, Head, Shri Siddhagiri KVK, Kolhapur, Maharashtra highlighted the role of women farmers in agriculture and allied sectors. Dr. Singh also urged the women farmers for focusing more on economic activities like value-addition, Mushroom and Vermi-composting Unit, etc.
The women farmers were also felicitated with the Appreciation Certificates for their excellent works for the farming community.
A total of 58 women farmers participated in the programme.
