The Annual State Level Joint Review Meeting of ICAR Regional Committee I for Uttarakhand State was held here today. The meeting was organized by Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali (VCSG) College of Horticulture, Bharsar (Pauri Garhwal), Bharsar.
Dr. Narendra Singh, Advisor to Chief Minister, Uttarakhand, and Chief Guest desired to make a humble beginning with whatever resource is available and strive to achieve the goal set by our Hon’ble Prime Minister to Double Farmers’ Income by March, 2022.
Dr. P.K. Mishra, Director, ICAR-IISWC and Member Secretary, ICAR Regional Committee I presented the Action Taken Report on the recommendations/action points of previous Regional Committee Meeting for Region No. I, held at GBPUA&T, Pantnagar in May, 2016.
Prof. Matthew Prasad, Vice Chancellor, VCSG, Bharsar presented the available resources of the State.
Dr. S.N. Tiwari, Director of Research, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar talked about Doubling Farmers Income for Uttarakhand State by March 2022.
The Technical Session was chaired by Prof. Matthew Prasad, Vice Chancellor, VCSG-UUHF, Bharsar. Issues & strategies of different state govt. departments were discussed during the technical session. Several recommendations with respect to agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and livestock were framed during the discussion.
The meeting was attended by Directors of State Govt. Deptt, viz., Agriculture, Horticulture & Fisheries; Directors of Research and Extension of State Agricultural University i.e. GBPUA&T, Pantnagar; VCSG – UUHF, Bharsar; Directors of ICAR Institute, Heads of Research Stations of ICAR Institutions in the State.
