Shri. Sunil Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor (DARE/ICAR) and Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR) launched the first PoS (point of sale) machine at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi today. The PoS machine was installed by the Syndicate Bank, the official bank of ICAR-IARI.
Shri S.K. Singhin his address emphasized the need and urgency for immediate implementation of Govt of India directives for cashless and digital transactions. He also underlined the importance of digital transactions as the Ministry wants to ensure immediate compliance of the same. Shri Singh urged the Scientists, Officers and other staff of the Institute to cultivate the habit of digital transactions for their personal needs also.
Shri Chhabilendra Roul, in his address noted with satisfaction that IARI is probably the second Institute in ICAR and first in NCT, Delhi which has launched the PoS machine and gone digital in ICAR. He also expected that other means of digital transactions viz. UPI & IMPS should also be utilized. Shri Roul advised that the stakeholders of ICAR i.e. farmers need be motivated to use credit / debit card for purchase of seeds and other farm produce from ATIC and sale counter.
Dr. Ravinder Kaur, Director, ICAR-IARI hoped that this initiative will help IARI in moving towards digital environment,
On this occasion a workshop on cashless and digital transaction was also inaugurated.
