Dr. A.K.Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) reviewed the progress of 9 KVKs of Manipur under ICAR-ATARI, Zone III (September 30-October 01, 2016) at KVK, Senapati..
While inaugurating the review meeting Dr. Singh emphasised the emerging role and responsibilities of the KVKs in the changing scenario of Indian Agriculture. He also briefed about the flagship programmes like Soil Health Card, National demonstrations on pulses and oilseeds etc. besides other activities of the KVKs. He also inaugurated Food Processing Unit at KVK, Senapati.
Prof. M. Premjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal highlighted the importance of double cropping and integrated farming systems in the North Eastern Hill region.
Dr. Bidyut C. Deka, Director, ICAR-ATARI, while welcoming the dignitaries and other guest, narrated the theme and objectives of such review meeting.
Forty-two SMSs representing all the nine KVKs of the state presented their progress of the mandated and other activities during last six months for the year 2016-17 and action plan.
