Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, Minister, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the 13th All India Inter Agricultural University Youth Festival at Jawahar Stadium, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (M.P.) today. A colourful march past of 40 participating teams of over 1000 students and officials dressed in different themes related to their respective states and universities marked the beginning. Dr Kusmaria said that talented youths of the country need a platform to prove them and in this regards this festival assumes special importance. He further assured to resolve financial problems being faced by JNKVV.
Dr. Ajay Vishnoi, Minister, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Backward and Minority Class Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh presided over the inaugural ceremony. He welcomed the youths participating in the Agriunifest, representing different parts of the country and said that they are real strength of the nation. He said that youths are the force and have power to deviate direction in the desired manner.
Dr. Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR said that Madhya Pradesh has been conferred with the Krishi Karman Award for attaining highest agricultural production. In this achievement, the scientists of JNKVV have great contribution. He also appreciated the increased participation of girls in agricultural education.
Prof. Vijay Singh Tomar, Vice Chancellor, JNKVV, Jabalpur said that the University is honoured to host the 13th Agriunifest 2013. He further said that University is also known for production of Soybean, Hybrid seed of Gram and Pulses that are produced at JNKVV and are being sown across the country. He encouraged youth to extend their valuable contribution in the development of nation.
