Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (Independent charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas visited ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubneshwar today. In an interaction with Scientists of the Institute, he appreciated the efforts of ICAR-CIFA in promoting freshwater aquaculture in the country. He also urged to use the technology for the benefit of farmers and to increase their income.
The Minister visited the Agri Business Incubation (ABI) center of the institute and had discussion with Aquaculture entrepreneurs of Odisha. He also visited the farm facilities of ICAR-CIFA and witnessed harvesting of “Jayanti” rohu and many other species like catla, catfish, murrel, freshwater prawn. Shri Pradhan observed activities in the institute fish feed mill.
Dr P. Jayasankar Director, ICAR-CIFA briefed on promising technologies available with ICAR-CIFA for better income of farming communities and developing entrepreneurship.
