ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stresses Management, Raipur organised a Farmers-Scientists Interface at Kondagaon, Bastar in collaboration with state forest department here today.
Dr. Jagdish Kumar, Joint Director, ICAR-NIBSM, stressed upon the importance of good quality seed, role of organic farming and integrated disease management in crops.
Scientists from NIBSM discussed the problems related to weed management, biotic stress factors, and management of rodents.. Farmers took keen interest in learning the scientific rodent management, live hole surveying principles, poison bait preparation, method of bait administration and safe disposal of poisoned baits.
Shri. S. Jegadeesan, IFS (DFO, Kondagaon) facilitated the interface programme to empower the tribal community by providing knowledge support in modernizing agricultural practices.
