Biotechnology Lab

The Biotechnology laboratory of Lac Production Division is actively engaged in research on characterization and selection of lac insect genetic stocks and host plant germplasms through molecular approach with an aim to select best productive and qualitative lac insects and host plants. The lab is also engaged in development of micropropagation methods in different lac host plants for clonal multiplication and genetic improvement. The laboratory is well equipped with instruments for molecular and plant tissue culture work and provides need based training to scientific staffs and regular project training for post graduate and undergraduate students.
