Dr Mohapatra urged scientists to disseminate ICAR achievements to public

In order to take stock of the achievements made during the last year (2017) and the renew the commitments for the new year (2018), ICAR organised an event in the A P Shinde Hall, NASC Complex today.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra , Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) in his address highlighted the laudable achievements made by the council during the year 2017 in the areas of Agricultural Research, Education and Extension, particularly the unprecedented number of new high yielding & climate resilient disease and pest resistant varieties and technologies of field and horticultural crops, livestock, fisheries and NRM technologies, New prototypes of agricultural equipment, new educational reforms introduced by the Council and various new Apps developed by the council and the efforts made to take the technologies and the package of practices developed by ICAR/NARS to the farmers and end users. These efforts contributed significantly towards the all-time high production of Cereals, pulses, horticultural crops, milk and fish production of the country achieved by our country during the year 2016-17. He impressed upon the scientific community to take various achievements made by ICAR to the public besides farming community to further enhance the image of the ICAR & agricultural scientists. He urged the Divisions/ Sections to bring out the publication of the achievements and success stories. He called upon the officers and staff to dispose-off the files speedily and in a time bound manner to enable quick decision taking.

Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR) informed about various administrative reforms introduced by the council and impressed upon all concerned to fully implement these reforms and administrative decisions taken by the council with sincerity and in a time bound manner.

Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Chairman (ASRB/(Additional Charge) gave an account of the reforms introduced and the progress made by the ASRB during the last one year and the agenda for the new year.

DDGs presented the detailed account of the achievements made by their respective Divisions and highlighted the priorities fixed for the year 2018.

 ADGs, all the scientists based in ICAR Headquarters, KAB I & KAB II and all the senior officers and the staff of ICAR headquarters and ASRB participated.
