Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, Govt. of India visited College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Selesih, Aizawl, Mizoram along with Dr. S.V. Ngachan, Director, ICAR Centre NEH Region and Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Director, ICAR, NRC Mithun, Nagaland. Dr. D Kathiresan, Dean, CVSc & A.H. welcomed the Director General and Directors and briefed about Teaching, Research and Extension activities of the college and significant achievements.
Director General congratulated the students and faculties of the college for their achievements. In his address, highlighted on the goal set by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India of “Doubling farmers’ income by 2022” and urged the faculties to work hard in hand with farming communities. He also interacted with the students on various issues of veterinary education and assured them that issues raised by students will be addressed at appropriate level. He also released booklet on “Backyard Poultry Farming” written in Mizo language and “College Profile” booklet.
Earlier Dr. S.V. Ngachan, Director, ICAR Centre NEH Region briefed about the farmers of Mizoram and said that our efforts should be to work for the farming community of NEH region.
Speaking on the programme, Dr Abhijit Mitra, Director, ICAR, NRC Mithun, Nagaland advised the students to be focused on their studies and push forward the name of the college by doing their duties sincerely with devotion.
