The 66th Foundation Day of ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow was celebrated here today
Padamshree Dr. M.M. Godbole, Professor, Department of Molecular Medicine & Biotechnology, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow delivered foundation day lecture on the subject Importance of Iodine in the food.
Dr. S. Rajan, Director, ICAR-Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow emphasised on the need of collaborative work for making available canned fresh sugarcane juice in its natural taste.
Dr. S.K. Shukla, Officiating Director of the Institute and Project Coordinator, AICRP on Sugarcane briefed the significant achievements of the Institute. He informed that Uttar Pradesh is likely to emerge as a major sugar producing state of the country and in this IISR technology has played the significant role.
More than 300 students and farmers visited the laboratories and research farm of the Institute.
On this occasion, ICAR-Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture and ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow also showcased their technologies to the visitors.
