Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment administered pledge of New India Making

Sh. Vijay Sampla, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment inaugurated Sankalp Se Siddhi programme- New India Manthan organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). Hoshiarpur, Punjab. In his address, the minister briefed about purpose of the New India Manthan programme and reminded the responsibility of each and every citizen for making India a great nation. He also informed the farmers about various Central Government schemes for the welfare of farmers and emphasized upon seven point strategy to double the farmers’ income by 2022.

Sh. Sampla also administered pledge to the participants to make a New India which is free from dirt, poverty, corruption, terrorism, communalism and casteism.

The expert lectures on various aspects were delivered on this occasion and farmers were made aware about latest technical know-how for doubling their income in next five years. A short film on Kisan was also screened and literature related to New India Manthan was also distributed amongst participants.

Exhibitions on various themes were also put up by KVK, Department of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture, Department of Animal Husbandry and various SHGs on the occasion to display the latest technologies for the benefit of farmers.

More than 500 farmers, farm women and rural youth participated in the programme from different villages of the district.
