Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare took pledge for making India a great nation by 2022

Shri Jagat Parkash Nadda, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare inaugurated New India Manthan - Sankalp Se Sidhi programme organised by  KVK Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh today.

In his address, the minister briefed about the various flagship schemes of Government of India e.g. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojna and stressed upon the use of organic manure and neem coated urea in their fields. He also urged the scientific community to prepare a road map for “per drop more crop.” He emphasized upon seven point strategy to double the farmers’ income by 2022. Shri Nadda also gave away certificates of Skill Development training imparted on “Quality Seed Grower” and “Mushroom Growers” by the KVK.

The chief guest administered the New India Pledge to the participants for making India a great nation by 2022 and make the nation free from poverty, terrorism, communalism and casteism.

Sh Rikhi Ram Kaundal, MLA, appreciated the work of KVK and mentioned that the KVK work is reflecting in the form of enhanced farmer’s income of this area.

A ‘Farmers-Scientists interaction’ was also conducted on this occasion in which the latest developments and technologies in the field of agriculture were discussed in length and breadth.  Farmers were also made aware about the purpose of New India Mandhan Programme by screening a video Kisan film.

An exhibition was put up by ATMA, JICA, KVK and different SHGs on the occasion to display the latest technologies to the farmers.

More than 850 farmers, farm women and rural youth participated in the programme from all corners of the district.
