ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna in collaboration of Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Patna and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barh organized one-day programme on “New India Manthan - Sankalp se Siddhi” at Bihar Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (BAMETI), Patna today. This programme was organized for creating awareness among farmers and officials regarding approaches and strategies adopted by Government of India for doubling farmers’ income by 2022.
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare graced the occasion as chief guest and administrated oath for making new India and doubling farmers’ income by 2022. He briefed the seven-point development strategies for doubling farmers’ income by 2022 He urged farmers, officials and researchers to work with dedication for achieving the objective.
Dr Prem Kumar, Agriculture Minister, Govt. of Bihar briefed about various agricultural schemes of Bihar government. He emphasized benefits of Pradhan Mantri Agricultural Insurance Scheme and motivated farmers for adoption of new improved agricultural technologies.
Shri Sanjeev Chaurasia MLA, Digha constituency, Bihar appreciated efforts of State Govt. and Govt. of India for agricultural development in the Bihar.
Dr. A.K. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultiral University, Sabaur and Dr. Vishal Nath, Director, NRC, Litchi, also participated in the programme .
At the outset, the Director, ATARI, Patna, Dr. Anjani Kumar welcomed all dignitaries and participants and briefed about the programme.
Approximately 788 farmers including officials from ICAR institutes, State Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Coconut Board, Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Patna participated during the function. Scientist-farmers’ interaction were also organised on this occasion.
