Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Govindnagar, Bankhedi Tehsil, district Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh today. Chief Minister insisted for low input agriculture specially with more emphasis on more crop per drop and organic agriculture. Addressing the gathering of small and marginal farmers Shri Chauhan urged to adopt crop diversification for food and fodder besides soil health management.

Shri Sureshji Soni, Sah Sarkaryavah, Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh in his presidential remark stressed the need for sustainable agriculture keeping in view bio-diversity conservation and water use efficiency.

Dr Sitasaran Sharma, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Shri Rao Udhay Pratap Singh, Member of Parliament Hoshangabad, Shri Guari Shankar Bisen, Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development and Smt Archana Chitnis, Minister for Women and Child Development, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Sartaj Singh (MLA, Seoni Malwa), Shri Vijaypal (MLA, Sohagpur), Shri Govind Singh Patel (MLA, Gadarwara), Shri Jalam Singh Patel (Narsinghpur), Shri Hemant Khandewal (MLA, Betul) and Shri Thakurdas  Nagwanshi (MLA, Pipariya) were also present. also graced the occasion.

Director ICAR-ATARI, Jabalpur urged the farmers to grow crop varieties as per the demand of the processing industry and market.

Dr Anupam Mishra, Director ATARI Zone IX and  Dr P K Bisen, DES, JNKVV Jabalpur were present on the occasion.

About 4000 farmers participated in the event.

Line departments took part in the exhibition that was setup in the vicinity.
