One day ex-trainee Sammelan cum farmer scientist interaction was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, R.S. Pura, Jammu. Dr. A. K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Extension) ICAR was the chief guest on the occasion in which more than 300 trainees participated.
During the program, the chief guest, appreciated the concept of bring the trainees back to KVK for sharing their views and providing feedback to the scientists and guide them to sort out the obstacles in the successful journey of agri-entrepreneurs. He emphasized that impact of each programme must be studied for better transfer of technology. He appreciated the farmers of the state for showing resilience even in difficult times.
Dr. Singh interacted with the trainees of Vermicompost Producer and Mushroom Grower-Small enterprise and lauded the efforts of KVK to involve famers at grass root level and empowering them with good agricultural practices.
Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana emphasized the roles of KVKs in guiding farmers in emerging field of floriculture, protected cultivation and skill development for increasing the income of farmers. He urged farmers to adopt agriculture as an enterprise and take all help of different schemes being implemented by the government.
Earlier, Dr. R. K. Arora, Assoc. Director, Extension, SKUAST, Jammu formally welcomed the guests and lauded the efforts of farmers in adopting best agro-practices. He thanked the farmers for coming to KVK despite of busy schedule due to harvesting of crop. He also urged to farmers to be in constant touch with KVK so that timely advice may be made available to them.
Annual action plan of all KVKs in Jammu region was organized in which all the Programme Coordinators presented their progress report and action plan. Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana and chairman of the programme laid special emphasis on increasing the visibility of KVK and asked for implementing the special programmes like Swachh Bharat and Soil Health management in a big way.
