enhance productivity and utilization of arid and semi-arid horticultural crops.

To act as national gene bank of arid and semi-arid horticultural crops.

To develop the multistory horticulture based sustainable cropping system
under arid and semi-arid environment.
4.
To act as national repository of scientific information related to arid
and semi-arid horticulture.
5.
To coordinate network research with State Agriculture Universities and
line departments and act as centre for Human Resource Development in arid and
semi-arid horticulture.
6.
To provide consultancy in research and development of arid and semi-arid
horticulture.
