Linkages and Collaboration
The Institute has the mandate of poultry research at the National level. Seemingly, linkages in the area of Poultry Breeding were developed with Project Directorate on Poultry, Hyderabad; G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar; Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar; Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; University of agricultural Sciences, Hebbal, Bangalore; Central Poultry Breeding Farms, Govt. of India; State Animal Husbandry Departments; Department of animal Husbandry and Dairying and Department of Economics and Statistics, Govt. of India for poultry improvement programmes. In the discipline of molecular genetics and biotechnology, this Institute has developed linkages with Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad; National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi and India Institute of Science, Bangalore.
At the international level, the Institute has established
linkages with University of Abertay, Dundee and Roslin Institute,
Edinburg, U.K. two scientists of the Institute were deputed to
work in the area of reproductive biology of avian species with
reference to sperm-egg interaction and prediction of fertilizing
ability and role of female factors in fertility.
CARI has close collaboration with IVRI, Izatnagar in respect of
Avian health, Bio security, Post Graduate Education and Training
and supply of fertile eggs for production of chick embryo based
vaccines. Possibility of collaboration with INRA, France and
TSUKUBA (Institute of Animal Production), Japan and Roslin
Institute of Scotland, U.K. were explored to train C ARI
scientists in the frontier areas of research so that scientists
of the Institute can command in the deficient areas of the
Institute in future.
