Technical programme
Soil Group : Ludhiana, Hisar, Jabalpur, Anand,
Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Bhubneswar,
Pusa, Pantnagar and Akola centres
1. Delineation of micro and secondary nutrient (MSN) deficient
areas based on soil and plant analysis and confirm them by
responses of crops under green house and field conditions.
2. Standardization and development of soil test methods and
establish critical limits of deficiency and toxicity of micro-
and secondary- nutrients for different soils and crops.
3. Development of techniques for ameliorating MSN deficiencies
and improving fertilizer- use- efficiency using IPNS approach in
different cropping systems
4. Forecasting the emergence of micro and secondary - nutrient
deficiencies through nutrient indexing under different soil,
cropping and management systems.
5. Monitoring health hazards from heavy metals pollution and
trace element toxicities in soil and plants.
Plant Physiology Group - Lucknow
6. Induction of micro and secondary nutrient deficiencies and
heavy metal toxicities in crop plants and to study their effect
on reproductive physiology of crop plants.
7. Screening of germplasms for their relative tolerance micro and
secondary nutrient deficiencies and toxicities of heavy metals.
8. Identify the mechanisms of micronutrient interactions in
plants and soils.
