  12. Action on the Review Team Report
  • The report received from the Peer Review Team is examined by the AB Secretariat/ Education Division and forwarded to the Chief Executive Officer of the institution for information and comments.
  • The recommendations of the Peer Review Team and response of the institution are examined by the AB Secretariat/Education Division and submitted to the AB with its own comments. The Chief Executive Officer of the institution may be invited for discussion, if felt necessary, before finalizing the comments.
  • The AB considers the Peer Review Team report, responses of the institution and also the comments of the AB Secretariat/Education Division and takes final decision on the accreditation status of the concerned institution/program.
  • Before the final decision, the Board ensures that all the due steps have been taken with care to arrive to a particular recommendation, including full opportunity to the CEO to put his views, if necessary even in the Board meeting.
  • The Board has following three options under the approved accreditation process.
    1. It can grant full and unconditional accreditation.
    2. It may decide to grant provisional accreditation, if the Board finds that the institution has strengths and carried out its mission with reasonable success, but there are weak areas that can be improved.
    3. If the institution is not fulfilling most of the criteria and does not have reasonable resources to fulfill the criteria in specified time frame, the institution may be denied accreditation.
  • The institution will get a written communication about the Board decision.
  • The institution also gets Letter of Accreditation, if accredited.
  • The decision of the Board is final and is not subject to appeal.
