The Directorate is located at Arazilines, Adalpura-Mohan Sarai Road, approximately 20 km away from Varanasi towards South-West where all research and development activities are being undertaken. The Directorate falls under the suitable niche of vegetable dominated area of Uttar Pradesh and its location stands at 82.52⁰ longitude and 25.10⁰ N latitude. The average annual rainfall is 1000 mm and distributed over a period of 100 days with peak rainfall during July - August. On a 60 hectares of land the Directorate has mini research complex to support vegetable research activities related to Crop Improvement, Biotechnology, Crop Production and Physiology, Crop Protection, Statistics and Social Science.
